Weather very wet for 1st half of December, but wasps seen at ivy until 15th, when on that day, my fifty-second birthday, I saw several & took one [[virgin female symbol]] at ivy on wall, where the river road runs along the Liffey just below Luttrellstown gate lodge, between Knockmaroon & Lucan, Co. DU. Following this & for a week before Xmas there was a terrific frost, the canals & even the edge of the sea being frozen even for several days, but mild again by Xmas day & wet till end of month.
