8th April 1936. The fourth fine sunny day in succession but sun obscured just after I reached the collecting ground at 2.30 & all but Bumbles soon in bed.
Coombes E. of Lower Reservoir, Glenasmole, Co. DU., as before.
[[underlined]] Bombus terrestris [[/underlined]], at least half a dozen [[2 female symbols]] seen.
[[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] common. [[underlined]] B. jonellus [[/underlined]] several [[2 female symbols]]
[[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]] 1 fresh [[female symbol]] seen & probably another.
[[underlined]] Andrena gwynana [[/underlined]] several [[2 male symbols]]. [[underlined]] A. albicans [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] just out.
[[underlined]] A. clarkella [[/underlined]] a few [[2 female symbols]] working at [[underlined]] Salix [[/underlined]] [[male symboll].
[[underlined]] A. apicata [[/underlined]] also a [[2 female symbols]] seen at [[underlined]] Salix [[/underlined]].
[No [[underlined]] Halicti [[/underlined]] seen].
[[underlined]] Nomada leucophthalma [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] & [[female symbol]] at usual bank above ^ [[insertion]] 1st [[/insertion]] dam & a few seen in coombs before sun obscured.
[[underlined]] Salius fuscus [[/underlined]] several [[2 male symbols]] seen
[No sawflies or [[underlined]] Diaparsus [[/underlined]] seen at Salix]
[[underlined]] Banchus crefeldensis [[/underlined]] 1 ([[female symbol]] ?), seen but missed, "searching" at long grass near head of 2nd coombe: I have no doubt about the species & think it was a [[female symbol]].

[[underlined]] Blackthorn [[/underlined]] out (since [[insertion]] came out [[arrow pointing to "since"]] [[/insertion]] 5th!) in many places.

10th April 1936 (Good Friday). An almost perfect day, entirely sunny, but wind still E & air very keen so that insects remained shy. 10.30 AM till 4.30 PM.
Glenasmole, to top of upper reservoir, Co. Dublin.
1 = E. side of upper reservoir & moraine by the R. Dodder at head of same
2 = Coombs on E. side of lower reservoir, as usual.
