Spent the entire time beating the larch in plantation on E. side of the summit as on 1.5.35 & other occasions.

16th May 1936. Dull, with misty rain for a couple of hours after mid-day ___the the usual E-SW "jam".
Went by 10 AM train to Greystones & returned by 2.25 train, with Nora Fisher to collect fossil shells from Mr. Condron's gravel pit at Killincarrick, behind Greystones, Co. Wicklow. On way back during rain took two [[underlined]] Braconids [[/underlined]] under leaves of beech tree at S.W. angle of the golf links: -
[[underlined]] Sigalphus "vernalis [[/underlined]] mihi". 1 [[female symbol]] of this species, whose [[2 male symbols]] are so abundant during late April & into May, & for which I can find no name.
[[underlined]] Bracon epitriptus [[/underlined]] ? 1 small [[male symbol]].
[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] & Vespa (?vulgaris) [[2 female symbols]] were the only aculeates seen flying.

17th May 1936. A very sunny & beautiful day, but fresh.
Went by 11 AM. bus to [[underlined]] Rush, Co. DU. [[/underlined]] with Nora Fisher, JAJ Palmer, &c., & returned by 4.12 PM bus [[ex?]] Rush.
Collected on waste plot near harbour, on dunes, & along cliffs &c N. of strand & harbour: aculeates very abundant but the only addition to list made here in June 1923 was [[underlined]] Andrena cineraria [[/underlined]], of which I saw many [[2 male symbols]] near harbour & several on dunes near cliffs. The colony
