25th August 1936. All sunny, very hot, but with cool easterly breeze: many insects out nevertheless.

All insects taken by sweeping, mostly in shade under trees or along road, from lower dam to plantation near top of upper reservoir, at various places, but all beside road along "western" side of reservoirs.
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Halictus rubicundus & calceatus [[/underlined]] the only Aculeates seen.
[[underlined]] Allantus pallipes [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] swept off privet bush in flower.
