Spent morning in garden, 14 Clareville Rd., Dublin and afternoon in duty in museum.

27th Sept. 1936. Much colder than previous week & a dull threatening morning (NE-NW jam) & not clearing till early afternoon.
Ride with Daisy to Slade of Saggart, Co. Dublin, George having left for London the previous morning to take up work at the Northampton Polytechnic (Engineering College). Quite a lot of hymenoptera out, but mostly Icks. or Proctos. & few Braconids. On a large thistle ([[underlined]] C. lanceolatus [[/underlined]]) in full flower above Jobstown were 5 [[2 male symbols]] [[underlined]] Psithyrus distinctus [[/underlined]] & 1 [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Ps. rupestris [[/underlined]] all very torpid & evidently had spent the night "out"; also 1 [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Ps. rupestris [[/underlined]] which was more actively imbibing nectar. Ivy along road just well in flower in places. All insects taken with sucker.  W. side, Slade of Saggart, Co. Du 1 till 3 P.M.
[[underlined]] Emphytus "serotinus" [[/underlined]] 1 deformed [[male symbol]] on bramble under trees.
