Cold, windy & no sun.  Most insects swept amongst patches of nettles in dunes.

17th June 1936.  A stormy & wet morning, with frequent & heavy showers till evening, with rising glass, & followed by a fine night.  Not feeling very well & so did not go out, but set accumulated material.

18th June 1936.  An almost perfect day,, with much sun:  easterly breeze in morning rather strong, but dying away & becoming sultry in late afternoon when many small insects came out.  Worked fields & shore round about Carne Villa both in forenoon & afternoon.

AM. 11.0 till 1.30.  Fields & roadside immediately south of Carne Villa, The Mullet, Co. WM.

[[underlined]] Bombus derhamellus [[/underlined]] 1 [female symbol]], captured & examined & released.
[[underlined]] B. muscorum, agrorum, lucorum & hortorum [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] seen
[[underlined]] B. sp [[/underlined]] ?  One very rich colored fulcrum [[female symbol]] seen for an instant but I think it must have been [[underlined]] muscorum [[/underlined]] [[inserted]] or [[underlined]] aprorum [[/underlined]] [[/inserted]]rather than the wished for [[underlined]] B. smithianus [[/underlined]].
[[underlined]] Halictus rubicundus [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] by roadside.
[[underlined]] H. villosulus [[/underlined]], 1 [[female symbol]] rather small.
[[underlined]] H. albipes [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]]H. leucopus [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] seen.
