Dunes & marshy ditches between same & Carne Villa.  The Mullet, Co. W.M.

[[underlined]] Bombus lapidarius, lucorum, agrorum & muscorum [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]], still no sign of [[unisex symbol]] [[unisex symbol]] in the district!
[[underlined]] Sphex sabulosa [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] [[male symbol]] frequent, [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] common, in places where [[underlined]] Lotus corniculatus [[/underlined]] & caterpillars feeding on flowers of same (? = [[underlined]] Nyssia zonaria [[/underlined]]) common on the dunes.  With George, who has spent many hours during the week watching the [[underlined]] Sphex [[/underlined]] at work, watched three [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] bring home & bury caterpillars, one at least of which was interred in a burrow already prepared & whose entrance had been temporarily blocked by two rabbit droppings & a small piece of red vegetable matter (? what).  2 [[male symbol]] [[male symbol]] & 1 [[female symbol]] taken.
