7th July 1936. A fine morning after a wet night; everything dripping; with thunder storm at noon, which lasting till afternoon-tea spoiled collecting for the day. Spent an hour in morning at old grand pit in moraine near the school, behind Tullaghan, Co. LE. In afternoon spent an hour & a half along coast with net & sucker, but then keen W. breeze off sea made insects shy & everything still too wet to sweep.
