3rd Dec. 1936 (Really 2nd Dec. but all specimens labelled "3rd" A.W.S.)  Very stormy (W-SW) but not cold.  Rode to [[underlined]] Glenasmole, Co. DU., [[/underlined]] but too windy & all vegetation, usually swept, cut down to "tidy" the place.  2.30 till 4.30 P.M.

[[underlined]] Hemiteles [[/underlined]] 2 [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] of 2 spp. =
[[underlined]] Pezomachus rufulus [[/underlined]] 4 all red [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]];  also 1 [[female symbol}} with black head  ? this sp.

[[underlined]] Stenomacrus ventralis [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] [[male symbol]] & [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]]:  1 [[male symbol]], 1 [[female symbol]] kept & mtd.
[[underlined]] Mesochorus [[/underlined]] 1 dark [[male symbol]]
[[underlined]] Collastes braconius [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] Aspilota "radialis [[/underlined]] miki" ? 1 [[male symbol]].
[[underlined]] Dacnusa longiradialis [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]].
Cynipid, with wings folded over back, 1 [[female symbol]]


6th Dec. 1936.  A fine day after frost.
No hymenoptera active, but a few swept.
Slade of Saggart, Co. DU.  11.30 till 2.00.

9th Dec. 1936.  A perfect day, after frosty night, preceded by a mild day.  No hymenoptera seen active, but some swept under trees on west side of town reservoir by the hut [[insert[[ = 1 [[/insert]] & at east end of lower dam [[insert]] = 2. [[/insert]]  2.30 - 4.0 P.M.

[[underlined]] Pezomachus rufulus [[/underlined]] 10 [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]], amongst grass, &c. under trees near the hut.
[[?6/C]] var. of last 3 [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] with last;  but with darker head & abdomen.
[[underlined]] Stenomacrus ventralis [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] at 1, [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] at 2: only 1 [[female symbol]] kept.
[[underlined]] Blacus breviarticulatus [[/underlined]] miki 1 [[female symbol]].
Chalcids  2.

Two caddis flies in field beside road, below 1st dam, amongst rushes, &c., on way up: = [[underlined]] Chaetopteryx villosa [[/underlined]] F.

[No collecting possible between 9th & 20th Dec. owing to gales, rain &c.]
