11th April 1937.  A dull, fine day, with sun & blue sky to S.E. over the sea:  south-west wind in Dublin, east along coast or where we were.

Deputy's Pass, Co. WI.  12.30 till 3.30 PM.
No real sun but heat of sun through cloud.
[[underlined]] Willow wren [[/underlined]] & many chiff-chaff heard.

[[underlined]] Bombus [[/underlined]] sp. heard 7 or 8 times but none seen for identification: probably [[underlined]] B. lucorum. [[/underlined]]
[[underlined]] Andrena minutula [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] in [[underlined]] Bellis [[/underlined]] in old garden which is now almost obliterated except for the rows of laurel.
[[underlined]] Halictus calceatus [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] seen on [[underlined]] Bellis. [[/underlined]] 
[[underlined]] Apanteles [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]]
[[underlined]] Bracon [[/underlined]] n. sp. 3 [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] beaten off Holly by side glen & another seen but lost off beater.
[[underlined]] Pimpla elegans [[/underlined]] 3 [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] beaten, 1 off the Spanish Fir, the others off Holly
[[underlined]] Dicaelotus pumilus [[/underlined]] ? 1 [[female symbol]] beaten off laurel
[[underlined]] Phaeogenes tibiator [[/underlined]] ? [[female symbol]] beaten out of Holly.
[[underlined]] Orthocentrus [[/underlined]] ? not seen when labelling 6/12/37 AWS. 1 [[female symbol]] beaten off Holly
Campoplegid  1 [[male symbol]] & 1 [[female symbol]] " " " [[dittos for beaten off Holly]]
[[underlined]] Cynipids [[/underlined]] 1 off laurel, the rest off Holly:  3 mtd. on 1 card.
Willows well out.

[[underlined]] Dacnusa areolaris [[/underlined]] group, legs red & black, no trace of sternauli .


13th April 1937.
[[underlined]] Aphidius [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]], hatched from dead [[underlined]] Aphids [[/underlined]] taken on leaf of hot-house, Glasnevin (Bot. Gardens), Dublin, by E. O'Mahony on 3rd April 1937.  Several other empty [[underlined]] Aphides [[/underlined]] also on same leaf.


14th April 1937.  A fine day, but dull & misty, with E. breeze;  only clearing late in afternoon.
Glenasmole, Co. DU. from Moore's Lodge to head of upper reservoir, on E. side.

[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum, jonellus & terrestris [[/underlined]] many [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]] Andrena clarkella [[/underlined]] ? 1 [[male symbol]] seen at clay bank by M.D.S.
[[underlined]] Stenichneumon pictus [[/underlined]] ? 1 [[female symbol]] beaten out of Douglas Fir
[[underlined]] Pimpla pomorum [[/underlined]] [[checkmark]] 1 [[female symbol]] beaten off [[underlined]] Laurestinus. [[/underlined]] 
[[underlined]] P. elegans [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]], several in Silver or Douglas Firs, not kept.
