16th May 1939. The fourth fine sunny day in succession but nearly spoiled by a "jam" which formed over Glendalough & moved down the Vale of Clara where we were; for some reason only a few drops of rain fell but the early aft. was dull & very sultry.

[[underlined]] Psithyrus distinctus [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] seen
A few [[underlined]] Andrena, Halictus & [[strikethrough]] Sphecodes [[/strikethrough]] Nomada [[/underlined]] seen but [[underlined]] Aculeatus [[/underlined]] not looked for & the old "sand flat" now largely overgrown.
