1st June 1937.  Chilly, mainly cloudy, N.W. wind, some sun:  not a good day for insects, yet many out owing to time of year.

Drove via Glenealy & Garryduff to top of Clara oak-wood at Cronyburn, Co. WI:  stopped at (?Drumdargan) wood, opposite side of road from Hollywood Ho., 1/2 mile N. of railway bridge & collected for half an hour (11.30 till 12.0) & here saw many beautiful flowering plants of [[underlined]] Cephalanthus ensifolia [[/underlined]]:  then drove on, leaving car at top of wood, walked down to river (Avonmore) near foot of Crony Burn & collected in marshy places & off trees till 3.30 PM:  then up through wood & after tea took a few insects in wood above (N. of) road:  left here at 5 P.M. & home at 6.30.

11.30-12.0 noon.  Swampy wood, with willows & birth & much [[underlined]] Cephalanthus ensifolia [[/underlined]], at -- wood, NW. of Glenealy & N. of railway bridge, Co. WI.  Labelled Glenealy Co. WI. AWS 1.6.37
