9th June 1937.  A fine day, but shower before our arrival made herbage rather wet & hard to sweep:  warm:  little or no sun.  3.0 till 5.0 PM.

Glenasmole, Co. DU.
All insects swept either by path or under trees on flat near Mr. Moore's & up to upper dam;  or in sedgy field on east side of upper reservoir half-way up to St. Anne's church, where showed Miss Thomson the sedges & other plants.

[[underlined]] Bombus lucorum & agrorum [[/underlined]] very common.  [[underlined]] Rhododendrum [[/underlined]]  [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] & [[unisex symbol]] [[unisex symbol]] of former, only [[female symbol]] [[female symbol]] of latter.
[[underlined]] Vespa vulgaris [[/underlined]] 1 [[unisex symbol]] at Moore's;  1st [[unisex symbol]] seen 1937.

[[underlined]] Rhogogaster viridis [[/underlined]] & [[underlined]] Tomestethus luteiventris [[/underlined]]  
[[underlined]] Euura saliceti [[/underlined]] ?? on Salix:  most sent to BM., one specimen ([[male symbol]]) taken with pollinia of an orchid stuck on its frons, as big as its head almost.
