17th June 1937.

Left Dublin by 6.40 A.M. mail for Lurgan; met there at 8.45 AM. by Harry Darling, & went with him to the Carnegie Library to see the collection of insects & foreign shells left to the town of Lurgan by G.C. Hyndman, who died, [[underlined]] circa, [[/underlined]] 1870-1880, mainly to search for Haliday's types of 3 spp. of [[underlined]] "Microgaster", [[/underlined]] s.l. described as in Hyndman's roll, but found they were certainly not there no, nor was there any evidence that they had been there. Hyndman's collection of beetles proved to be surprisingly large & there were some interesting specimens with full data, some of which labels I copied; his hymenoptera did not amount to much & most were of common Irish species, with a few English & Scottish specimens given him by friends.

At 11.30 AM. went by car with H.D. to Leansmount, & worked sides of sheltered lane to Ellis's Cut Co. Down, where Logan Canal enters Lough Neagh. Next crossed into Co. Armagh & worked back along shore to Kinnegoe gut, where met by car & driver
