A fine day, with strong westerly breeze; rather too bright in early morning & so cloudy in afternoon, but considerable sun till 2 p.m. Drive with Hudson to Coan, Glen of Imaal & he & I & M.D.S. walked up Camara Hill, along ridge, into & up North Prison & on to summit of Lugnaquillia; then back to car at Coan. Did not collect till reaching 2,000 feet on ridge, then swept a little; next swept on site of old lake at 2,200 ft. in N. Prison; next on tip of South Prison at 3,000 ft.; & finally in bog & by roadside at Coan, after tea. Insects plentiful in morning, but scarce in evening. Left Coan at 7.40 PM. & got home at 8.55 PM. 27/6/37 cont. Ridge e. of & above Camara Hill & swamp in floor of the North Prison, Lugnaquillia, Co. WI. Alt. 2,000 to 2,200. 12.30 noon till 3.0 P.M.
