17th July, 1937.  Very calm, dull & misty in morning, after a very wet night & everything dripping till after dinner when bright sun & a strong northerly breeze dried things up.  Mist again in late evening.  

Curracloe, Co. WX. 
11.0 till 1.30 (morning = "A.M.").  Spent time in dunes S. of Strand Hotel road, but insects very scarce & shy. Most sent to BM.  The following kept

Dicondylus 1 [[female symbol]].
Hemiteles ? 1 [[female symbol]], with red legs & very black "knees".
H.? 1 [[female symbol]] with shortish clouded wings. 
Cremastus geminus Common : 1 [[female symbol]] kept.

Meteorus leviventris? 1 [[male symbol]].
Platygaster ? 1 large, fat, [[female symbol]].
Chalcid: a beautiful green sp. with long tereba & huge calcar in mid tibiae, &c.  (ca 1 line in length)



17.7.37 cont.  3.30 till 6.0 P.M. (afternoon = "P.M.")
Spent time in dunes & edge of marsh N. of Strand Hotel road, but very windy & few insects seen, those taken being mainly swept.

Dicondylus 1 [[female symbol]]
Bombus lucoris & agrorum only, 1 or 2 workers of each seen.
Vespa sylvestris 1 [[female symbol]] or large [[juvenile female symbol]] seen.
Aritranis signatorius 1 [[female symbol]] on carrot in dunes.
Aritranis elegans Devr. [[checkmark]] A.W.S. Aug. 15, 1937.  A dark [[male symbol]] on carrot flower between sand hills & marsh: subsequently submitted to G.J. Kerrick, who agreed  stated that it agreed with Devrigne's type in B.M., except in colour, & that this he had previously compared with Gravinhorst's type of d]] "Ichneumon leucopygus Ginv." in Berlin & that this is also synonymous & has priority.
