29th August 1937.  A dull day, with chilly NE breeze after drizzly morning, following three perfect days;  everything except under trees far too wet to sweep:- as on 25th.  A good day nearly spoiled, though insects becoming very abundant in late afternoon.
Drove W. at 12. noon, to get out of drizzle, after seeing George off at Kingstown at 10 AM:  Stopped for lunch at Pike Bridge, Carton, Co. KD. & collected along bank of canal & under trees in shelter belt between canal & main road;  then drove on via Kilcock to Agher Ho., Co. ME, near Summerhill, where collected on sides of road & in hayfield under trees

Bombus agrorum, B. lucorum - 1 very fresh yellow [[male symbol]] kept, 1 very yellow [[male symbol]], 
Vespa vulgaris
Phygadeuon ? sp. ? black, red belt on abd.  1 [[male symbol]] kept,. but very abundant along edge of canal running up & down plants.
Leptocryptus ? small sp. 1 [[female symbol]] kept.
Pezomachus  red sp.  1 [[male symbol]] kept.
Perilissus cf. verticalis Brischke ?  1 [[male symbol]], agrees well!  AWS. 5/3/39.
