29th Sept. 1937. A perfect day & all sunny in aft. After a dull misty morning, the two previous days having also been fine though dull.  Vegetation quite dry for the first time for weeks. Warm & no wind.
3.0 till 5.0 P.M.

Glencullen, Co. WI., above Enniskerry.
1 = marshy ground in woods on left bank of Cookstown River, 1/4 to 1/2 mile above Enniskerry.
2 = shady clearings in wood on right bank of river opposite ruined house: top edge of wood.

Apanteles circumscriptus ? 1 [[female symbol]] at 1.
Meteorus punctiventris ? [[female symbol]] at 1.
Blacus ambulans 3 [[female symbol, female symbol]] at 1.
Diospilus oleraceus 2 [[male symbol, male symbol]] (1 kept) at 2.
Opius lugens ? 1 [[strikethrough]] [[female symbol]] [[/strikethrough]] [[male symbol]] ? (only Opius taken!) at 1.
Alysia sp.? 1 [[female symbol]], long terebra, at 1 : this might possibly be the unknown [[female symbol]] of A. lucia Hal. but if not it must be new to science! AWS. 1939.
Aspilota (Panerema ?) fulvicornis 1 [[male symbol]] at 1. I think undoubtedly this sp. Note the club-shaped hind femora. AWS. 30.9.39.
A. praecipua 1 [[female symbol]] at 1. A. fuscicornis 1 [[male symbol]] & ? 1 larger [[female symbol]], at 1.
A. cynipidis ? 1 very small [[female symbol]] at 1. A. sylvatica ? 1 small [[female symbol]] & 1 larger [[female symbol]] at 2.
A. vulgaris m. 1 [[female symbol]] at 2. A. minutissima m. 1 [[female symbol]] at 2.

Dacnusa stramineipes 1 [[male symbol]], 5 [[female symbol, female symbol]] at 1. ([[male symbol]] & 3 [[female symbol, female symbol]] kept).
D. areolaris frequent, only [[female symbol, female symbol]]. D. pubescens 1 or 2 [[female symbol, female symbol]], 1 [[male symbol]].
D. longiradialis several fine [[female symbol, female symbol]].
D. elegantula, 1 [[female symbol]] at 2. D. gilvipes [[male symbol]] at 1.
D. abdita 2 [[female symbol, female symbol]] at 2 (1 kept.)
D. sp. ? near affinis 1 [[female symbol]] at 1, with prominent spiracles on 1st abd. seg. = I think certainly only a freak of D. affinis! AWS. 1939.

Ephedrus validus 1 small [[female symbol]] at 1.
[Aphidius: none seen at all].

Proctos. abundant; but nearly all sent to B.M. - Besides the pair referred to below only 2 from 1 and from 2 kept: see p. 137 -->
[On return home saw [[male symbol]] & [[female symbol]] Serphid, largest sp. with red legs, lovemaking, but not in cop.  Male stood on her back & while she held her antennae porrect & stiff, slightly apart, he alternately wound his round hers in a spiral manner from beneath, & after giving hers a squeeze box-constrictor-fashion, unwound them.
