3rd Oct. 1937. After midday all sunny & a perfect autumn day, but much rain on 30th Sept. & 1st Oct. & the inevitable "jam" & skiff of rain at breakfast time left the vegetation far too wet to sweep except in a few places.

Drove via Dunboyne to Summerhill - Agher - Longwood to the Boyne Aqueduct, where Royal Canal & railway crosses the River Boyne, then home via Enfield & Maynooth.  

Stopped to collect at three places:-

1. Plantation belt on N. side of road between Mullagh & Kilmore, E. of Summerhill, Co. Meath.
2. Plantation at Rahinstown House, W. of Agher Cross Rds., Co. Meath.
3. Canal; & fields below, Boyne Aqueduct, Co. ME.
