13th Oct. 1937.  A dull day with slight rain in late afternoon, SW wind indicating an approaching depression.

Drove to near N. end of Glenade Lough (an old road) & ascended to clifs & slip, N. of this.  Did not see Arabis petraea & the station for Epilobium alsinifolium is above the lake S. of where we were, but we did see Holly Fern in great abundance, Saxifraga hypnoides, v. "quinquefida", large & very fine;  Sax. aizoides & S. oppositifolia, Silene maritima v. alpina, Cechlearia "alpina", Aspidium aculeatum & 13 other sp. of fern besides the above 2 species, Silene acaulis, Draba incana, Arabis hirsuta, Sedum rosea, &c.

The large form of Helix nemoralis, mostly unbanded, also seen;  as well as A. arbustom.  A few insects also taken; mostly swept, between road 300 ft. & up to about 1,100 ft below cliffs.  Meteorus abdominator [[female symbol]] taken by R.C. Faris in Sax. hypnoides at about 1,000 ft. alt.

Meteorus abdominator [[female symbol]] taken by R.C. Faris at foot of main cliffs at about 1,000 ft. alt:  very dark wings, &c.

14th Oct. 1937.  Stormy, with skiffs of rain from S.W. all day.  In morning set some special insects & collected by stream & in old garden with sucker at The Lodge, Tullaghan, Co. LE.  In afternoon drove to Kinlough & ascended to cliffs on N. face of hill 1750 (= Dartry of 6" Ord. map) S.E. of same, where saw lots of Sax. oppositifolia & other species as on 9th.  No insects taken in afternoon.
