15th Oct. 1937.  A fine day, but dull & with strong SW wind;  quite mild in shelter.  

Drove to Sligo & then round Lough Gill, by Doonee Rock, Drumahair & Shriff.  Stopped 1 1/2 hours at Doonee Rock, & collected by roadside nearer Sligo & on lake shore;  also stopped 1/2 hour at L. Colgagh on return journey but only 2 insects taken there.

In late afternoon swept sheltered sides of front hay-field at the Lodge, Tullaghan.

Roadside ditch & under trees near Tobernalt, & lake shores & wood at Doonee Rock, Co. SL.  (L. Gill).

Procto, wingless, 3-clubbed antennae.

Aspilota macrops n. sp.  Head short, very wide, slightly expanded behind the eyes, but not like [[?enpanea]] & [[?Co.]];  eyes very round & large & twice as long as temples where viewed from above;  terebra about 1/2 as long as abdomen;  antennae slender, longer than body, 25-segmented, but segments not [[?moniliform]] & none elongate.
