7th June 1938.  After a gale with heavy rain a fine fresh morning, but wind still strong to a gale from SW-W & collecting almost impossible.  Tried sweeping in shelter at mouth of river Bush (left bank) below footbridge = 1 & again in lane from Bushfoot to tramway on way home for lunch = 2.

B. agrorum [[female symbol, female symbol]].
Myrmica ruginodis in dunes.
[No other aculeates seen though considerably more tourists]

Tryphonius  1 [[male symbol]], black & red abd.
Mesoleius  1 [[male symbol]].
Thersilochus black [[female symbol]] at 1;  "red" [[female symbol]] at 2.
Chelonus cf exilis  1 [[male symbol]], 23-seg. ant.
Opius caesus  1 [[female symbol]] at 2, in lane.
