SCOTTISH TRIP 7th-15th JULY.

Left Dublin 6.30 p.m. on 7th July 1938 in terrific rain, which had lasted all day in Dublin, & blowing hard from NE-E. Arrived Greenock at 9 AM on 8th July & went by the Lucy Ashton to Garelochhead, Dunbartonshire, where arrived at 12.15 & stayed at Woodlea Hotel. In afternoon walked N. to Whistlefield to point where it looked down on junction of Lochs Goil & Long. Collected a little on way up & down, but main vegetation too dripping wet after the night's rain & subsequent skiffs. Very few insects seen, except small Dips. Later went by bus to Helensburgh where met George who had come up from London by Royal Scott. Heavy rain again came on in the evening.
