Myrmica scabrinodis nest on open moor at about 400 ft. near Whistlefield:  2 [[juvenile symbol, juvenile symbol]] kept:  almost v. sabuleti.
Bombus lucorum 1 [[female symbol]] seen at Erica cinerea flower on moor.
Hemiteles apertus ? 1 [[male symbol]].
H. sp. 1 [[male symbol]]
Homocidus nigritarsis  1 [[female symbol]].
H. "n. sp. Gareloch" = H. impolitus Stelfox 1940. Type!  1 [[male symbol]], with matt mesonotum, black hind coxae, black sutellum & reddish hind tibiae, &c.  cf. [[male symbol]] taken at Bundrowes, Le. on 1.8.1933! AWS. 28/5/39.

10th July 1938 (Sunday)  Wet all night & morning turning to intermittent drizzle which gradually cleared off about mid day, though rain blowing in the wind all afternoon & everything dripping.  Collecting impossible in morning & very difficult in afternoon.  In morning spent 1 1/2 hours in wood, before dinner, as on previous morning & took 3 icks, with sucker.  In afternoon called to Faslane Bay & up road leading to Glenfruin a little above the railway: swept along roadside both above & below railway, but everything very wet.

Mesoleid, yellow scutellum, no areolet, large, with last.  1 [[female symbol]]
Helictus sp. ? 1 [[female symbol]] on fern in wood.
Also Vespa sylvestris [[juvenile symbol]] seen at Seraph. [[?nodosa]] & Bombus lucorum at Melampyrum.
