15th July 1938.  Left Garelochhead by 11.20 bus to Helensburgh then by train to Glasgow & Glasgow to Liverpool (as no berths available on direct boat from Glasgow to Dublin).  Left Liverpool by B & I) at 11.15 P.M.  While waiting for bus at Garelochhead saw [[female symbol]] Bombus pratorum on Snowberry flower.
