22.5.1939.

A most perfect summer's day with very hot sun all day, although the B.B.C. weather report at 9 P.M. on 21st could hardly have been more pessimistic.

At 5.30 P.M. I took a ♂ Crabro leucostomus in garden, 14 Clareville Rd., DU. & saw a ♂ Chrysis ignita on bored post.
Also took -- & saw several ♂ Pimpla flavicoxis at ivy on Ellis's wall: same as taken on 16th May earlier in month.
