30th May '39 PM
In evening spent an hour or more at the Holiday Fellowship guest-house, "Corrymeela", on cliffs beyond Bath Lodge, but did not collect : with Alec Davison, of B.N.F.C. & Mrs D.

31st May 1939. 
Went in mail boat to Rathlin arriving about noon & stayed till 5.30 PM.
Collected, mainly by sweeping along following route:-  Church Bay, Ruecuit, then south along coast, round 1st lake, Ally Lough & Ushet Lough (E. side) & back by road.  After tea spent a few minutes above Gage's house at Church Bay.  Weather very hot, with keen breeze & much fog from NW

Bombus lucorum ♀♀ frequent.
B. jonellus 1♀ taken
B. muscorum v. pallidus 1♀ taken, others seen by M.D.S.
B. agrorum  Commom, but ♀♀ only.
B. lapidarius 1♀ on Bluebells, the only specimen seen during the week.

Halictus albipes 1♀ taken, this othera of this or other small species seen by Daisy, one seen also by me was very bronzy in strong sunlight, but otherwise looked like a small rubicundus!
