1.7.39 cont Loch Damph district, cont
on return on shoulder of Ben Damph the following plants were seen: Juniper, most of which like communis and some like sibirica; Thalictrum alpinum, one patch in trickle of water-at-about 400 ft; Armeria "alpina"; Solidajo, many plants about 2 inches high in cracks on flat rock expanse ; Alchemilla alpina, abundant; Sedum roseum, one seed in stream, only; Beech Fern frequent.[on here Scutillania galericulata growing at high water mark amongst sea-weed. Refer to shore of Torridon, 30/6/39! AWS.]

2nd July 1939. Very wet in morning after a wet evening, with frequent showers; in afternoon mainly fair, but everything too wet to collect. Walked through estate of Ben Damph Ho. to point about a mile from Annat and watched Eider Duck with young and merganser. Also saw Heron's nest in tall Pine tree with young. Tried sea-weed in usual place, but captured only one beetle near [[?]] hymenopliron (2 Hemitela on rock beside sea weed took a ☿ Myrmica, which

Took a very small ☿ of Bombus hortorum ? near Bay View.
At Annat gate of estate saw a ☿ Bombus pratorum, with very dark tail (seemed only red [[?]]
