Pezomachus sp. [[male symbol]] with red abdomen bred 1.8.39 from floated skin of dead caterpillar taken on this day & which had evidently been victimized by a Rhogas of the R. circumscriptus group.  A.W.S. 16/2/1942.  Put in box with Pezomachus!

10th July 1939.

A fine day, but after some considerable sun till about noon, quite dull with cool breeze from NW.  Went by 10.48 train from Arisaig to Morar & after visiting the Falls of Morar walked up the N. side of Loch Morar to Bracora & ascended hill to N.  Then returned via pine plantation to road & collected at intervals in this & under birch-oak scrub beside road back to falls.  Insects by no means common, but vegetation for once quite dry.

B. jonellus  [[female symbol, female symbol]] frequent on hillside above Bracora
Psithyrus quadricolor  1 [[female symbol]] on roadside
Andrena coitana  1 [[male symbol]] near lower fall.
Halictus fregessneri  [[female symbol]] on brambles in gravel pit.
