D. leogaster  1♀︎ swept off Salix blossom & yellow with pollen, at 1 (not recognized as a Dolerus owing to pollen!)

Blennocampa subcana √ R B Benson, 11.3.43.  Watched apparently egg-laying on leaf of Potentilla sp. in sand pit by road at 1.
Black sp.  at 2:
Allantus pallipes  ♀︎ at 1.

Pontania? of sp.?  2♀︎♀︎, presumably on willows at 1, but exact loc. forgotten : one of these is very large for this genus! A.W.S 4/10/42.
R.B. Benson returned these with letter of 11.3 43 & said (1) = "Potania sp. ?, sawsheath damaged" = "Pristiphora laricis"

5th May 1940. 

A hot drizzly day, after a beautiful morning.  On duty in Museum in aft. but in forenoon drove to R. Canal above Leixlip & spent 1 1/2 hours on rt. bank of the Rye Water for 200 yards above aqueduct.  Collecting disappointing: too early in day?.

11 till 12:15 noon.

Tomostellus luteiventris  ♀︎♀︎ swept in wood.
Pristiphora ruficornis  ♂︎ swept off hawthorn (not yet in flower)

Cryptus tarsoleucus?:  black sp., white socks, 1♂︎.
