326. 6th July 1941. A dull warm day with skiff of rain at 4 P.M. & misty rain setting in about 8:15 P.M. On duty in museum in afternoon! After tea rode to Clondalkin & turned up canal & collected above 3rd lock above bridge at Clondalkin station. Most insects swept along hedge & parallel drain SE. side of canal & a very few swept along canal itself, where the big Glyceria bed is, as wind (S-SW) too strong in open. Wind dropped when rain came on at 8:15. 28 specimens mounted and those labelled "C'l'd'k' of "23/11/43! A.W.S. [/Left Margin] Clondalkin, Co. DU. 6:30 - 8:15 P.M. Dolerus palustris ♂︎♂︎ & ♀︎♀︎ swept along ditch & canal Tenthredo colon ♀︎ & T. "arecuatus" ♀︎. Pemphredon 1 swept along ditch: probably P. shuckardi Exochus cf. separandus 1 Bassus anulatus ♂︎. Tryphon trochanteratus ♂ Sagaritis ♂︎ & another Campoplegid = Angitia? ♀︎, with semicircularly curved up terebra (? abnormally curled!) = Bracon cf. epitriptus ♀︎, red legs, 30 seg. ant. Euphorus orchesiae 1. 7.7.41. Collected many leaf-blisters from various plants in M.S.D. Westropp's garden at Clonskeagh, DU. 327. 6th July 1941, cont. Clondalkin, DU, cont. Perilitus aethiops? ♂︎, ant. 27. Meteorus cinctellus ♀︎. Blacus trivialis? a large ♂︎, with 20-seg. ant. Opius lugens? a large ♀︎, ant. 22-seg. O. pendulus ♀︎, ant. 19. Aspilota tumida m. ♂︎ (ant. 20) & ♀︎ (ant. 17). A. rubipes m. ♂︎, ant. 18. Dacnusa bifossula sp. n. 3♂︎♂︎, with 30, 31 & 31 seg. ant. A small species, with reddish testaceous legs, black feet, short, square, postpetiole beyond rather prominent spiracles of almost glabrous 1st tergite; head very broad & slightly widened behind eyes; propodeum with very short, white, pubescence, but this not hiding rugose sculpture; antennae much longer than body, black; abdomen reddish in centre (segs 2 & 3!); sternanli crenate; &c. A.W.S. 24.11.43! Trionyx cf letifer Hal. ♀︎, ant. 11 Praon abjectum ♀︎, ant. broken Aphidius cf. gregarius Marsh. ♀︎, ant. 18; abd. pale. Chalcid: with coral [[?colsecred]] eyes = Mosquito: = Aedes sp. (? rusticius): put in Museum coll. 7th July 1941. A ♀︎ Phaenocaspa canaliculata Stelfox bred from fungus, Polyporus.
