A dull warm day with skiff of rain at 4 P.M. & misty rain setting in about 8:15 P.M. On duty in museum in afternoon! After tea rode to Clondalkin & turned up canal & collected above 3rd lock above bridge at Clondalkin station. Most insects swept along hedge & parallel drain SE. side of canal & a very few swept along canal itself, where the big Glyceria bed is, as wind (S-SW) too strong in open.
