30. 30.7.41, cont. Ireland's Eye, DU., cont. Cynipids: 1 from 2 only mounted: - Grasshopper. When sweeping through bracken, &c, at foot of rock cliff, N. of church, I'm surprised to find a splendid ♂︎ & similar ♀︎ of the green long-horned grasshopper, Leptophyes punctatissima in the net. This seems a most extraordinary place to get this sp. Butterflies. Meadow Browns common; (?) ♂︎ Aglaia, several, worn; Small Tortoiseshell several fresh seen. Moth. Earwigs abundant. Hemiptera common: The following only taken:- Diptera 3. Chloromyia formosa ♀︎. 31. 30.7.41, cont. Ireland's Eye, DU., cont. Coleoptera: the following taken (named for me by EOM)
