Daenusa talaris  1♀︎ taken with sucker at 1, (2 on leaf of Eupatoruim).
D. areolaris & pubescens examined: not kept.
D. bellina  ♂︎♂︎ at 3. 
D. aphanta  ♀︎ at 2, ant. 23.
D. near obesa?? a very small ♂︎ at 4, ant. only 24. seg. & pale stigma.
D. sp.? a dark (♂︎ ?) at 3, with hairy tergite 2 & therefore cf. mamertes Nixon, but ??; ant. 30.
Praon volucre  ♀︎ at 3, ant. 18.
Afhidius pascuorum?  ♀︎ at 3, ant. 17, dark legs
Proctos.  Only 2 or 3 & none kept.

14th August 1941.

A very fine day, though mostly dull, with occasional hot sunbursts & gentle W. breeze, after a bad gale & much heavy rain on 13th.  Insects surprisingly common, especially so on flat open ground at head of the upper reservoir.

Glenasmole, Co. DU., 11.30 AM - 6.30 P.M.

1 = under trees year but by lower reservoir & along edge of lake.  11.30 till 1.0.
2 = flat at head of upper reservoir.  2.0 till 3.30.  Many large ichs taken by hand of Angelica flower heads at 2.
3 = edge of upper reservoir where boat house is.  3-30 till 4 or 5
4 = down upper dam, around "tunnel" & down to ford, under trees to footbridge & back to upper dam by the main pathway.  5.0 till 6.30.

B. terrestris  1 or 2 ♂︎♂︎ only. }
B. hortorum  ☿☿. }
B. lapidarius  ♂︎♂︎ & ☿☿ common. }
B. agrorum & muscorum common. }
B. derhamellus either large ☿☿ or small ♀︎♀︎ at 3. }
B. jonellus  1♀︎ on Loosestrife at 2. }
{Mostly on Loosestrife at 2, where bumbles in great variety & abundance.

B. distinguendus  ♂︎♂︎, ☿☿ & one lovely fresh ♀︎ on Loosestrife at 2
Psithyrus barbutellus  1♂︎ swept at 4
Mellinus arvensis  1♀︎ swept at 3.
Vespa sylvestris & novegica  ♂︎♂︎ common on Angelica at 2.  3 dark & 1 pale example of the latter kept!
