29th May 1942. 

A very fine day with a few light showers, one of which wet Douaghtry just before we arrived, but we missed all the other.  Westerly wind. 

Rode on bikes to Douaghtry arriving there about 1 o'clock & left for home at 6 P.M. reaching hotel at 7.35.

Spent some time examining Hudson's station for Cephalanthera ensifolia which grows all over the rocky ridge immediately west of where the road [[strikethrough]] where this [[/strikethrough]] runs down to the sands.  On the steep N-NE face of this ridge the remnant of a woodland flora still survives including Oak (2 to 4 ft. high), holly, Salix cinerea, birch
