14th June 1942.  

A poor, cold day, with considerable rain & drizzle from 10.30 till 2.30 P.M., owing to a NE-NW jam, after a dry week with cold E. wind & a fine night & early morning.

Rode to R. Canal, W. of Louisa Bridge, above Leixlip, Co. Kildare, but no collecting possible till about 3 PM.;  then swept edge of canal & tow path, near walled-in plantation 1/2 mile W. of Louisa Bridge = 1 & later swept grass, &c., under trees in this plantation = 2.

Bombus lucorum, hortorum (♀︎♀︎ at Iris flowers!), agrorum, muscorum & derhamellus (4♀︎♀︎) seen.
Psithyrus campestris v. rossiellus  1 very fresh ♀︎ taken at 1.
Andrena  ♂︎♂︎:  a few seen during sunburst.
Anteon  1♂︎ at 2.
Tenthredopsis nassata  1♀︎ seen at 1
Tenthredella mesomelas  ♀︎ at 2
Dolerus picipes  ♀︎♀︎ at 2.
Pachynematus obductus  1♀︎ at 1.
