220. 14th June 1942. A dull day with SW-W wind, but no rain fell. Conditions in Glenasmole were good & insects abundant, especially late in evening. Rode on bikes to Glenasmole & filled 4 suckers from the following areas. Glenasmole, Co. DU. 4 till 8 P.M. 1 = Swept on flat at head of upper reservoir. 2 = Swept between the ford (below the footbridge) [[strikethrough]] & between that [[/strikethrough]] & upper dam; also about six or seven insects taken at N. end of the ford. 3 = Swept from N. end of ford along course of river to boat landing-place below Moore's house 4 = Swept from N end of area 3 back to near the ford, but on W. side of marsh parallel to river & not on the river side as was area 3. Taken at 1: [10 mtd. & these labelled 29.9.1944. A.W.S.] Dolerus gessneri 1♀︎; the first ever seen by me at this spot. D. palustris ♂︎♂︎ & ♀︎♀︎ Tenthredo arcuata ♀︎♀︎ Selandria flavens ♂︎ (?♀︎ seen). Cryptinae 10: none kept. 221. 17.6.42 cont. Glenasmole, DU. cont. Taken at 1, cont. Bassus annulatus ♂︎. Zootrephus suspiciosus? ♂︎. Meloboris? ♀︎: the only ick kept: very short terebra. Bracon fuscicoxis ♂︎, ant. broken. Xenarcha lustrator √ 1♂︎, ant. 34. Apanteles ♂︎ black legs. Ascogaster cf. armatus Wesm. black var. ♂︎ ? (ant. broken!) Meteorus scutellator ♂︎, dark var.
