24th June 1942.

A dull day, only a stray gleam of sun, cool, with fresh NW breeze.

In afternoon rode to Glenasmole, arriving at head of upper reservoir about 4 P.M., left Moore's house at 12 minutes to nine & reached home, against breeze, at 9.20 - 32 minutes.  Collected in five areas:-

Glenasmole, Co. DU.

1 = Flat at head of upper reservoir.
2 = shore of reservoir at boat house on W. side of upper reservoir & Slade Brook channel & small side glen W. of same, at same place.
3 = under trees above spill-way below upper dam & on both sides of path down to Moore's house, near gate.
4 = Marsh, & under trees on flat between Moore's garden & river as far down as the boat "dock".   
5 = do-do from boat dock (including same) N. as far as possible to sweep with reservoir full or nearly so.

Cryptinids  2 taken:  many ♂︎♂︎ seen.
Homocidus pulcher & Bassus annulatus  1♂︎ each.
Stenomacrus cf. sylvaticus  1♂︎, ant. 28.
Campoplegids:  many seen not taken (Meloboris ?)
