D. grossa miki  ♀︎, ant. 33: large sp. short petiole at channel which flows into river just above ford (on right bank), exactly where D. eros, dark legged var. taken a few years ago.
D. cf. aversa Nix. 1944  1♂︎, 1♀︎, ant. 31 & 29 respectively.
Aphiduis spp. common: none kept.

5th July 1942. 

A very blustery day with heavy showers in early part, but much very hot sun.  Collecting largely spoiled by wind & showers, though vegetation often dry enough to sweep.

Rode to Rye Water at Leixlip and then along canal W of Louisa Bridge, Co. KD.
1 = Slope from road to Rye Water, N. of canal.
2 = 2nd field N. of canal, where much Inula dysenterica 
3 = enclosed plantation 1/2 mile W of Louisa Bridge along canal.

Bombus muscorum   1 faded ♀︎ seen at 1.
Psithyrus campestris  1♀︎ seen at 1.

Tenthedo arcuatus , ♂︎ & numerous ♀︎♀︎ at 1 & 2: [[strikethrough]] one [[/strikethrough]] 1♂︎ & 1♀︎ mounted! taken.
Dolerus bimaculatus  1♀︎ amongst Equisetum limosum at 2.
Small slender black sp. at 3.
Galls of Pontania on Salix purpurea?, along side of canal at 3, collected to send to Benson.
