17th July 1942.  

A dry blustery day, wind NW-N, after two windy & showery days;  practically no sun, cooler.  Rode to Glenasmole in the afternoon, arriving about 3 PM & leaving at 5.30.  Swept only two areas & in most places the wind made collecting quite impossible, but in spite of conditions a fair number of parasitica about.

1 = area around & under tree between Moore's garden & the bend of the river below the ford.
2 = Iris-&c-filled swamp parallel to river from Moore's rubbish heap to where the boats are tied up, & the river bank beside same.

Tenthredella livida  1.
Mesomelas  ♀︎♀︎ at 2.
T. nassata  1 small ♂︎, at 2.
Arge ciliaris  1♂︎ near "the dock" where stream runs into river, & amongst Spiraea, at 2.
Athalia lugens  1 at 2.
Anteon  ♂︎ at 1.

Cryptinids  4, including Atractodes tenebricosus  ♂︎, Stilpnus gagates.
Leptocryptus aereus  ♂︎  &
Promethes laticarpus  ♂︎.
Pimpla examinator?  a very small ♂︎ swept off elder bushes in flower.
Campoplegids 2:  only 1 kept = Holocremna  ♂︎, ant. 37.
Colastes braconius  ♂︎♂︎ & ♀︎♀︎.
Apanteles fulvipes group  ♂︎.
Microgaster politus?  ♂︎ swept off elder in flower near Moore's garden.
Sigalphus sp. n.?  A very small ♂︎ & larger ♀︎, ant. of both 20-seg.;  tergite 3 entirely smooth & apex of tergite 2 also smooth in centre
Trychyusa aurora  1 nice ♂︎;
Aspilota  ♀︎
Dacnusa areolaris abundant.

Chalcids 4, including 3♀︎♀︎ of pretty yellow-marked sp. - these 3♀︎♀︎ mounted on one card - Near Megastigmus!  & green ♂︎.
