26th August 1942. 

A very fine day with E-SE wind, rather strong in afternoon, but soft & warm, with much very hot sun;  after a depression on 24th, 25th with very heavy rain.  In afternoon rode to Glenasmole & went up to head of upper reservoir where collected for over an hour;  also collected on west side of upper reservoir & on right bank of river below foot bridge below upper dam.

1 = flat at head of upper reservoir.
2 = west shore of upper reservoir near where boat is moored.
3 = right bank of river below footbridge, under trees &c.

Very few bumbles on Purple Loosestrife where usually many at this season;  no doubt because of recent heavy rain. Many ♂︎♂︎ must have been killed off.
Cryptinids. 11, including some small black ♂︎♂︎ (Hemiteles √ ant. 20);  also 1♀︎ which has venation like Stenomacrus, with short areolar nerve = Hemiteles pseudominutus? ♀︎ ant. 18 & 
Also 1 red ♂︎ ant. 26, cf. Microcryptus with white-marked face.
