9th May 1944.

A dull, dry, windy, day, with high glass & sun occasionally glowing through misty sky: wind strong & variable, SW., S, & even E., falling in late afternoon - too late to matter.

Went by bus to North Bull - arriving about 10:30 A.M. & collecting till 4 P.M. - home 5.30. Collected by sweeping & shaking vegetation along edges of drains &c. in three areas:

1 = edge of salt-marsh & golf links from C.G. Station to Curley's Farm.
2 = Sandhills on sea-side for a mile on town side of Lady Anna's Bank & around that place, including sand-flat where alders are & clump of Salix repens
3 = edge of drain parallel to golf links for half-a-mile at furthest point of drain from town.
