last September & which resemble the form found under similar conditions in the Ben Bulbin-Annacoona (limestone) areas in Co. Sligo.  Also saw enormous number of Arion ater (all v. aterrima), which came out as soon as shade came on cliff & also saw a few Arion subfuscus (at about 2,600 ft.):  the Arion ater occurred to the very top of Galtymore.  Not many beetles seen, but Carabus catonulatus seen several times on the higher ground & a couple of small black beetles ([[image]] so size) taken above 2,500 ft.

Collected by sweeping in 3 areas, as follows:-
1 = on moraine & round shore of L. Diheen
2 = up cliffs S. of L. Diheen to 2,600 ft.
3 = Summit plateau of Galtymore, round Dawson's Table & ridge 1/4 mile west of same, all ca. 3000 ft.

Taken on shore or around tarn (mostly taken at waters edge where huge numbers of insects congregated - many having been washed up by faint breeze blowing across lake!) = 1.

Atractodes sp.  ♀︎ swept:  ant. 22.
Hemiteles sp.  ♂︎, ant. 21.
Homocidus pallipes  ♀︎ in tarn;  very small, ant. 22.
Campoplegid  ♂︎ (= Nepiera concinna) swept, ant. broken. 
Oncophanes minutus  ♀︎, tergite 2 almost smooth, ant. 21.
Perilitus sp.  ♂︎, ant. 24.
Diospilus capito  ♂︎, ant. 23.
Opius caesus  3 small ♀︎♀︎:  1 mounted has 21-seg. antennae.
Pentapleura pumilio  ♀︎:  not mtd.
Dacnusa postica  ♀︎ in tarn
Dacnusa areolaris group  ♂︎♂︎ & ♀︎♀︎ 13:  2♂︎♂︎, 1♀︎ mounted, as below.
D. areolaris?  1♂︎ (ant. 20), 1♀︎ (ant. 20) with rather fusco-testaceous legs, flat mesonotum, long radial cell, very transverse head;  but moderately long 2nd discoidal cell.
D. areolaris?  1 larger ♂︎, redder legs, domed mesonotum;  but very short, almost square, 2nd discoidal cell: : D. laevipectus var.
D. affinis  4 small ♀︎♀︎, 1♀︎ mounted
