2nd June 1944.

A fairly fine day, but strong W. wind:  dull in forenoon with some frizzle;  fine & sunny in early afternoon, but again dull in evening with mist on hills to about 2,000 ft.

Set insects before lunch, then rode across valley & walked up to L. Curra (1,850 ft.), had afternoon tea & then worked right up the cliffs W. of the lake to that on which Arabis petrea grows & so back home again.  The following plants noted on these cliffs:  Sax. stellaris & cf. hirta from
