Plants seen on W. side of coomb, above L. Muskry.

Rubus saxatilis beside Epilobium angustifolium as in Sept. 1943;  Epilobium angustifolium in Dr. D.A. Wells' station at N. end of lower cliffs;  Scolopendrium vulgare:  a single plant in face of lowest outcrop of rock between last & the lake shore;  Plantago lanceolata plentiful at S. end of cliffs;  Orchis mascula very common, tall & a beautiful dark, rich, purple colour all over cliff to at least 2,000 ft.;  Equisetum arvense one patch (5 fronds!) in wet spot at foot of middle range of cliff, ca. 2,000 ft.;  Veronica chamaedrys, Geranium Robertianium in several places & in flower, at ca. 1800 ft., Viola Riviniana to at least 2,000 & abundant (but no sign of V. palustris!];  the above plants not referred to by Hart from this locality, the following recorded by him;  Galium uliginosum & saxatile, much Calluna;  Rumex acetosella, [Stellaria uliginosa??], Saxifraga stellaris, umbrosa, hypnoides & various forms of so called hirta, Chrysosplenium oppositifolium, Vaccinium myrtillus, Rumex acetosa, Oxyria digyna, Luzula sylvatica, Poa annua, Lycopodium Selago,

Potentilla tormentilla, Cystopteris fragilis, Blechnum, Asplenium viride in abundance & A. Trichomanes sparingly at S. end of lower cliffs, Lastrea Filix-mas & L. dilatata, Solidago Virga-aurea, Carex stellulata, C. panicea, C. glauca, C. goodenowii, C. pilulifera, C. pulicaria, C. paniculata, C. binensis, Ranunculus acris very fine, R. Ficaria, Cardamine pratensis, Cerastium cf. triviale, Epilobium palustre & E. montanum, Sedum Rhodiola very abundant, Angelica sylvestris & Chaerophyllum sylvestre, Crepis paludosa, Jasione montana, Scabriosa succisa, Campopanula rotundifolia (one of the most abundant plants of the cliffs & slopes!), Juncus squarrosus & Scirpus caespitosus √, Hymenophyllum peltatum, Valeriana cf. officinalis, Rhinanthus Crista-galli (young plants), Euphrasia seedings, & one small plant only in flower, Digitalis very common, Thalictrum minus common, Hypericum pulchrum, Oxalis acetosella, Geum rivale, Pyrus aucuparia, [Salix aurita & Betula pubescens not referred to by Hart!], Hieracium cf. anglicum?? [the boreale form not seen today!], [Luzula campestris??]
