7th June 1944.

A fine day, after a dull morning with much sun in afternoon & only gentle W. breeze. Left hotel at 11.30 & rode across valley, then walked up Glancushnabinnia & over col into next valley to E. & so up to L. Borheen.

On journey saw Drosera rotundifolia, Pedicularis palustris (a few plants in one spot only!), Veronica scutellata, Myosotis repens, Viola palustris, associated with Potamogeton polygonifolius, but once more failed to find any Pinguicula lusitanica recorded by Hart from this area (between 700-900 ft. alt.). In crossing stream E. of outlet of L. Diheen, worked up it for 1/8 mile past several nice waterfalls & noted the following plants at between 1100 ft. & 1150 ft.:-

Digitalis, Teucrium scorodonia (plenty), Sanicula, Sax. hypnoides & S. stellaris, Epilobium nummulariaefolium on boulders in stream-bed in plenty, Chaerophyllum sylvestre at upper waterfall only, Lonicera, & Ivy, while a bunch of Urtica diocia seen where there is a ford to the turf-cuttings on hillside W. of stream.

A ♀︎ Bombus muscorum seen at ca. 800 ft. in crossing Glancushnabinnia at ca. 12 noon!
