10.6.44, cont. Lyracappul, Co. LK. 2,712 ft. 

Insects swept off scanty herbage from col to summit, 2650 (?) to 2712;  mostly off tassock of Eriophorum (single-flowered sp.!);  Juncus squarrosus, &c. in shelter of wall which runs parallel to scarp, but on SE. side of ridge; or on edge of scarp facing west & along which Swifts were hawking.

Two specimens of Coelinius taken in first sweep coming up from col towards summit.

Dipteron  1.  Loxocera aristata.
Stenomacrus flaviceps  ♀︎, ant. 25.
Apanteles infimus Hal.  ♀︎.
Perilitus sp.  ♀︎, very small, ant. 19.
Opius caesus  ♀︎, ant. 22.
Pentapleura pumilio  2♀︎♀︎, ant. 18 & 20;  the latter much larger!
P. angustula  4♀︎♀︎, ant. 16, 17, 17 & 18;  the last with trace of stigma!
Phaenocarpa tabida  ♀︎, antennae nibbled by Psocid (in hotel).
Aspilota  4:  3 only mounted = 
A. (Synaldis) parvicornis  1 beautiful little ♀︎, ant. 14-segmented.
A. (S.) probably also parvicornis  1 larger ♂︎, ant. 19;  head widened behind eyes.
A. (S.) cf. temporalis m.  large ♀︎, ant. 17;  head not so widened behind eyes as parvicornis;  legs fusco-testaceous;  antennae nearly as long as body.
[NB. the above ♂︎ Synaldis might just as well belong to the latter ♀︎ as the former!  A.W.S. 6.1.1947.

Dacnusa areolaris?  2♂︎♂︎, 4♀︎♀︎. {ant. 20 & 21 (♂︎♂︎);  20, 21, 22 & 22 (♀︎♀︎) with varying 2nd discoidal cell lengths;  1♀︎ has distinct sternauli but quite smooth.
D. elegantula  3♀︎♀︎, ant. 26, 27 & 28.
D. (Gyrocampa)  ♀︎, ant. 24.
Coelinius cf. niger  2♂︎♂︎, ant. 39 & 41;  mesonotum rather rough & notauli rather indefinite.
Aphidius  1♂︎, 7♀︎♀︎ =
A. sonchi or renominatus?  6♀︎♀︎ probably same species, but ant. 14 (1), 15 (1), 16 (3) & 17 (1), also 1 black ♂︎ (ant. 19) with blackish legs, probably ♂︎ of same species.
A. cf. pascuorum?  ♀︎, ant. 18.
Platygaster  1 small ♀︎.

Beetles:  2 Staphs:  given to E. O'Mahony.
[Also 2 beetles taken by hand Aphodius lapponum on cliff W. of summit, where we had tea & a large Staph. taken on ridge before this.]
