9th Aug. 1944.

Mainly dull & several times misty showers in hills in afternoon, W. wind & much cooler than previous ten days.

Swift heard screaming at 2.30 P.M. & one or two seen every day since main party left on night of 4th-t5th.

In afternoon rode to Glenasmole, where we had not been for some time, arriving at head of upper reservoir at 4 P.M. 7 leaving lower reservoir at 5.57;  home at 6.30 exactly with strong breeze behind us most of the way.

Collected in three areas, as follows:-

1 = Flat at head of upper reservoir.
2 = By old river channel & under trees between Moore's garden & river.
3 = Under trees by hut on W. side of lower lake.
