10th Aug. 1944.
On this day Daisy found a ☿ of Leptothorax acervorum on the cover over our turf-stack in the back yard, which I think proves that the ant I saw (within 10ft. of this) on 4th Aug. (see p.330 ante!) was this species & not a Ponera as I at first expected.
Last Swift seen on previous night, i.e. 9th!
