Bracon coriaceus miki, large ♀︎, ant. mutilated; in many ways resembling B. fulvipes but head more cubical & anal segments more polished.
B. variator  ♀︎; ant. 24, small.

Aspilota minutissima  ♀︎, ant. 15, very small & nice example.
[Dacnusinids : none seen whatever, although the same ground 3 weeks ago swarmed with them.]

10th Sept. 1944. 

A beautiful autumn day, after several cold days with N wind, some sun & some showers, but keen E. wind after mid-day kept small insects shy:  all sunny till noon then dull till 3.30, when again very hot sun till 6 P.M.

Left home at 10 AM & rode to Louisa Bridge, Royal Canal, Leixlip, Co. KD.;  then went along canal to Mr. Mitchell's plantation as usual.  Arrived about 11.30 & left about 5 & home about 6.30 against strong E. breeze.
   
Collected in three areas, as follows:-
1 = along side of canal & between canal & fields, chiefly just W. of plantation, but a few taken just W. of Louisa Bridge, 11.30 till 12.45.
2 = inside plantation.  1.30 till 3.0.
3 = sides of canal & towpath just E. of plantation.  3.0 till 3.30.

Bombus terrestris several fresh ♂︎♂︎. 
B. lucorum  ♂︎♂︎ & ☿.
B. agrorum  ♂︎♂︎ & ☿☿. 
B. lapidarius  ♂︎♂︎.
Psithyrus rupestris  ♂︎. 
P. campestris  ♂︎♂︎ & ♀︎♀︎.

Large, Small & Greenveined White Butterflies, Red Admiral (2), Small Tortoiseshell (ca. 24), Peacock (1), Speckled Wood, Small Copper (1), Common Blue ♂︎ & ♀︎ abundant.

Aeschna grandis (1), Sympetrum striolatum, abundant.
Agrion sp. 1♂︎.
