25th May 1945.

A misty morning, with misty rain on hills & showers in valley about noon, later clearing & fine afternoon, but cooler.

Spent forenoon investigating flora of springs above & W. of Newtown where Pinguicula lusitanica grows.

In afternoon left hotel at 4 P.M. & went to Clady Bridge, up the "red lane" & climbed hill 2,109 ft. on E. side of Glancushnabinnia & made notes of the plants on W. slope of the summit & on the crags to SW. of summit. On the damp slope much Empetrum nigrum & on the crags Solidago, Campanula rotundifolia, Lycopodium, Selago, Hieracium, cf. anglicum in several place & in some quantity on one scarp: appeared to me to be the same species as that found at Lough Curra; Polypodium, Hymenophyllum peltatum, Viola Riviniana, one gully with many plants of Primroses in full flower; Galuim saxatile, Sagina procumbens, Asplenium trichomanes, &c.

Did not collect any insects!
